Today, we published our COVID-19 Impact and Recovery 2020 Summary Report, which provides an overview of the impact of COVID-19 on travel in Destination Canada’s key international markets, and in particular the impact of reduced travel to Canada in 2020.

Key insights from the report include:
-While most of Destination Canada’s key international markets saw some level of recovery in domestic travel at some point in 2020, by the end of the year international travel had not recovered to a significant rate in any of those markets.
-Destination Canada estimates a total tourism export revenue loss of $15.7B due to reduced travel from its key international markets.

As of February 3, 2021, most of Destination Canada’s key international markets had approved/authorized at least one COVID-19 vaccine for distribution. Read more
